Every year, on the 24th day of the last month of the Chinese moon calendar, the Chinese celebrate the transition to the New Year. In Paris, it’s the opportunity for several far-east communities (Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Laotians) to gather in praying in Buddhist temples.

The height of those celebrations are the parades during which dragon dances and martial arts demonstrations are mixing, as well as traditional music and the deafening uproar of firecrackers, incense fragrance and powder smell.

Those parades, more and more popular every year, are a chance for Parisians to discover a thousand-year-old tradition coming from China.
